OpenAI has revealed an exciting update for ChatGPT, where the renowned AI chatbot will now have the capability to respond using voice and images. With this latest enhancement, users can engage in direct conversations with ChatGPT, similar to interactions with Apple's Siri and Amazon's Alexa.
According to OpenAI, ChatGPT's voice functionality relies on
an advanced text-to-speech model, which can produce lifelike audio from text
input along with a short sample of human speech. The company also mentioned
that they partnered with professional voice actors to develop five distinct
animated voices for the chatbot.
ChatGPT has introduced a new capability to answer questions
related to images. OpenAI initially hinted at this feature when they unveiled
GPT-4 (the underlying model for ChatGPT) in March, but it was not accessible to
the general public until now. This enhancement allows users to upload images to
the application and inquire about their content.
Additionally, it was recently announced that DALL-E 3,
OpenAI's latest image-generation model, will be integrated with ChatGPT. This
means users can request the chatbot to generate images as part of their
interactions.
