Shakib Al Hasan will sit out 2nd warm-up match.
Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan will be absent from the Tigers’
last World Cup 2023 warm-up match against England. This precautionary move
comes after he experienced a minor injury during practice session, which also
kept him out of the first warm-up match against Sri Lanka yesterday.
The news was confirmed by Bangladesh Cricket Board’s media
manager.
Shakib incurred a minor ankle sprain two days ago during a
training session, and as a result, he was given a break and did not participate
in the match against Sri Lanka in Guwahati yesterday.
As the number one all-rounder did not face any severe injury, he is expected to
join the Tigers on their first contest in this campaign.
Following their final official warm-up match against the reigning champions on
October 2, the Tigers will commence their participation in the major event by
taking on Afghanistan in Dharmasala on October 7.
